Not for medical or emergency use
Do not use for others for diagnosis, triage, treatment or medication decisions, or emergencies. Contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional when needed.
Rules for shared content (Terms of Use)
Share only what helps care for the person. Do not use for others to harass, threaten, or bully anyone; post hateful or discriminatory content; post sexual or violent content; send spam or unrelated content; share other people's personal information that care does not need; or pretend to be someone else.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that breaks these rules can be hidden or removed, and people who break them can lose access to their care circle or to for others. When a report is received, the operator reviews it and may hide the content, remove the person from the care circle or stop them from rejoining it, or suspend their account.
Before text is saved, the for others server checks it for a short list of clear slurs, sexually explicit terms, and direct threats or abuse, and does not save text that matches. The check does not send anything to another service, and text that matches is not stored. It cannot catch everything, so it works together with reporting and blocking. Photos are not checked automatically.
You can read the full Terms of Use in the app under Settings > Terms of Use.
How the Terms of Use relate to Apple's standard EULA
Your use of for others is governed by the in-app Terms of Use (including the rules for shared content above) and also by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). The EULA is written by Apple and has not been changed by for others. Purchases made through the App Store are also subject to Apple's terms. In the app, the “Terms of Use (Apple standard EULA)” link opens Apple's EULA.
Opening Settings
Tap the “•••” button at the top right of Home to open Settings. “Care circle settings,” used below, is inside Settings (the screen it opens is titled “Circle settings”).
Report
You can report objectionable content or abusive behavior from within the app.
- A record (including its handoffs): open the record (for example, from “Recent records” on Home), then at the bottom of the screen go to “Safety” > “Report this record”
- A photo: tap a photo on a record or in Supplies to enlarge it > “Report this photo” (if it isn't shown for a photo in Supplies, open “Details and confirmation” on the item > “View source record and photos” and report from the record)
- A supply: tap “Supplies” on Home > “Details and confirmation” on the item > “Safety” > “Report this supply”
- A member: Settings > Care circle settings > “People in this circle” > “Report”
Choose a reason, add a short note in “Details (optional)” if needed, and tap “Send report.” Only the operator sees reports, and the operator reviews them. Do not include care details or personal information in the note. You can also tell us by email.
Block
- On a record, go to “Safety” (for a supply, “Details and confirmation” on the item > “Safety”) > “Block (name)” (or “Block the person who shared this” if no name is shown)
- Or go to Settings > Care circle settings > “People in this circle” > “Block”
Blocking a person hides their records, handoffs, supplies, and photos from you only. They are not notified, they stay in the circle, and they can still see what you share. If the circle owner blocks someone, new seven-day reports the owner makes also leave out that person's content. Saved seven-day reports do not change.
To unblock: Settings > Care circle settings > “Safety” > “Blocked people” > “Unblock”
Stop sharing
The person who shared an item, or the circle owner, can hide it from every member with “Stop sharing this record,” “Stop sharing this photo,” or “Stop sharing this supply” in the item's “Safety” section (for photos, in the enlarged view; for supplies, under “Details and confirmation” on the item). It is not deleted. Saved seven-day reports that include it are also hidden until it is restored.
To restore: Settings > Care circle settings > “Safety” > “Hidden content” > “Restore” (items hidden by the operator can't be restored there)
Remove someone or leave a care circle
- The circle owner can go to Settings > Care circle settings > “People in this circle” and choose “Remove” (they can be invited again later) or “Remove and block from circle.” To let someone rejoin, go to “Safety” > “Can't rejoin” > “Allow to rejoin.” (People the operator blocked from rejoining can't be allowed back there.)
- Members can leave with Settings > Care circle settings > “Leave this care circle” > “Leave circle.” The owner must first transfer ownership to another member with Settings > “Transfer circle ownership.” Records you already shared stay in the circle.
Viewing after sharing stops or someone is removed
After stop sharing, a block, removal from a care circle, a block on rejoining, or leaving, for others refuses new views of the affected records and photos through the app. However, copies already shown or saved on a device before then, and images already taken out of the app, cannot be recalled. A photo link created earlier, for example with a modified app, may keep working until it expires.
Subscriptions
Purchases and cancellations are managed by Apple. You can view, change, or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings (https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions). To restore purchases, use “Restore purchases” on the Premium screen in the app when it is shown.
Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Billing continues until you cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings. If the person who purchased the subscription deletes their account, the care circle can no longer use Premium through that subscription, but Apple billing continues until it is cancelled.
Delete your account
Go to Settings > Delete account. After reviewing the subscription notice (and, for circle owners, choosing what happens to shared data), tap “Continue to Apple verification,” then “Verify and delete.” For what is deleted and what remains, see “Retention and Deletion” in the Privacy Policy.
